A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

FAQs

Are kids and plus-ones invited?

If your invitation includes your kids or an option for a plus one, then yes! We look forward to celebrating with them.

What if I need to change my RSVP?

We have to lock in the head count and names by 20 September. Please call or text Vicki or Ben as soon as you have any adjustments you need to make.

What is Wedding Day Eve?

If you’re in town Friday, come join us for dinner and drinks at Main Street Tavern. We’ll have a section reserved for our wedding guests, so grab a table, order whatever sounds good, and settle in for an evening of catching up and celebrating.

Dinner and drinks are available for guests to purchase individually. No formal plans, no fuss—just a chance to see familiar faces and spend some time together before the big day.

What should I wear?

Weather-permitting, we will be outside for most of the event. Think garden cocktail.

For the women: Dresses of any length, or dressy separates with flats or wedge heels may be the most comfortable. Remember to bring a jacket for the evening when the sun goes down.

For the men: Feel free to wear a suit or slacks with a button-down and a sport jacket. We all know Benji hates to wear a tie, so those are optional.

Autumn in Virginia can feel like summer one day and winter the next. We may have a warm ceremony and a chilly reception. Pack sunglasses and a jacket. Please check the weather during that week so you are the most prepared.

Is parking available?

Yes, the venue has a small parking lot. However, we ask that out-of-town guests please check the location of your lodging because many of the options are within a 5-minute walk from the Greenock Manor.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive by 3:30. We’ll have refreshments and music to greet you as you settle into parking and walking around the beautiful grounds of the manor house.

When does the reception end?

The reception is over at 10:00pm, due to neighborhood noise ordinances and party permits.

Can we smoke there?

There are no cigarettes permitted on the property, but we will have a designated cigar section near the fire pit.

Can we post wedding photos on social media?

Please respect our privacy and don't share photos of our wedding on social media, as we'd like to make a formal wedding announcement with our professional images. We do have a Web folder where we’d love to receive all of your photos and videos you take throughout the night. Please post them within a day or two so we can go through them and include them in our album.

Are pictures allowed during the wedding ceremony and/or reception?

We kindly ask that you keep our wedding "unplugged" and refrain from taking any photos or videos during the ceremony, first dance, and cake cutting. We want our guests to truly be in the moment with us and we don’t want our professional photo package full of the backs of people’s phones.

Feel free to snap selfies and videos and pictures throughout the rest of the day/evening! Share them to our Web folder so we can include them in our album. QR codes will be shared at the event.

Do you have details about hotels and nearby restaurants for those of us coming from out-of-town?

Please check our Travel page for details about airports, hotels, nearby restaurants, etc.

Is there a wedding registry?

We do not have a registry. We’ll have a table for gifts and a box for envelopes at the wedding, if you’d like to help us save up for a honeymoon. You can also send your gift or cash to Vicki or Ben directly. We are very grateful for your presence and appreciate even just a congratulatory card.
